Hi Guys,

What is your favorite high school memory?

my favorite school memories are Mr. Biddy's Senior English lunch period and the "underground" protests/pranks--When it was time to return from lunch, Mr. Biddy would stand on the cafeteria stairs landing, and slowly turn around, crooking his finger.  This was the signal we were all supposed to watch for, and line up and follow him back to the classroom. Occasionally somebody would miss this signal.  When we got back to class, if someone was missing, Mr. Biddy would lock the door, turn off the lights, tell us to be completely quiet and pretend that the room was empty.  Then we would all listen for the missing person to come back to class, rattle the doorknob, knock on the door, and wonder where everyone was. Maybe a little cheesy now, but I think we all really enjoyed it because we knew no other teacher would do this for fun.

Then there was the "underground" school paper with anonymous reporters, and the article that protested the rule that girls weren't allowed to wear jeans, while the guys could wear whatever they wanted.  And the time those mysterious posters would appear between classes, and the teachers ripping them down--I remember one by the lunchroom that said "Eat at Osborne's cafeteria--10,000 flies can't be wrong".  And I remember driving .to school and seeing about 2 dozen "For Sale" and "For Rent" signs on the front lawn  I really admired all that rebellion.  Who did all that stuff?

Vicki, that is so funny! Thanks for sharing. :-)  I don't know who made that sign about the 10,000 flies but it sounds like Steve Kendrick to me...lol

I don't know if you were at the last reunion, but we had a segment called "Biddy Bares All", where Mr. Biddy was actually there and we got to ask him any question we wanted to. His answers were pretty hilarious!  One of the questions was, "Did Mr. McQuary really suck?" And he said YES! At least he was honest. Sad that Mr. Biddy has passed away since our last reunion.   He seemed to know all of the crazy stuff going on behind the scenes at OHS.
